I am a 2019 graduate of the M.A.T. program from Rhode Island College, and a 2023 graduate of the MEd. (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages) program.  I currently teach in the Providence Public Schools at Mary E. Fogarty Elementary School. 

 

I am certified to teach Elementary School in Rhode Island with an additional ESL certification.  With experience working at the elementary level (in a Self-Contained Autism classroom and 4th Grade Integrated ESL), as well as in activities outside of the traditional classroom, I have a diverse background with much to offer.

My career prior to 2019 had consisted of a variety of marketing experience.  I decided to take this journey to become a teacher four years ago, because I wanted to make a change.  I wanted to make a change in my life and that of my family, but more importantly, I wanted to make a change in young student’s lives.

My first classroom teaching experience was at a young age during high school when I taught modules in social sciences and English in a program called School Within A School (S.W.S.).  It was a program in which I was selected to, where I had the opportunity to write curriculum and identify with peers.  Oversight of the S.W.S. program came from a board of students and teachers.

Additionally, I have coached 5th Grade Co-Ed and Middle School Basketball at The Grace School (at Meeting Street).  I have years of experience coaching youth sports for Lincoln Youth Soccer Association (LYSA), Lincoln Little League, the Town of Lincoln Parks & Recreation (Basketball) and McCall YMCA (Basketball).  I am a nationally accredited coach for basketball through NFHS.

During my in-service experience, I have enjoyed working with students on a variety of subjects, but specifically in regards to social emotional learning.  I realized how important it is to connect with students, build relationships and educate and care for the whole being.
